Transit Oriented Development-Cameron

Cameron

American Plaza

Located in the heart of San Diego, The American Plaza planning began in 1987 and the structure was completed in 1991. Not only does The American Plaza runs through the heart of downtown, it also slices through the largest building in San Diego- a 34 story building of offices. This mass transit development ports and departs from many different attractions through San Diego, such as The San Diego Museum of Contemporary Art, a specialty retail gallery, and a mass food court.  On the fact that the city of San Diego consists of 1,223,400 residents, I believe this mass transit development is huge progression in the right direction.

Hollywood-Highland

The Hollywood-Highland station is located along the Red Line of the MTA subway in the center of Hollywood. The station runs through the Hollywood and Highland development, a mixed use retail and entertainment center. The development is intended as a transportation system for the estimated 8-10 million tourists who visit the area each year. Major uses in the Hollywood and Highland development includes an upscale 640 room hotel, a 6-plex movie theater fused into the forecourt of Grauman's Chinese Theatre, a public plaza, and a 3,000 space parking garage. Although the Hollywood and Highland development cost approximately $600 million to develop, the value of this mass transit system has proved priceless.
